    Default New Helix 7 Equipment


    I just recently purchased the HELIX 7 CHIRP SI GPS G2 for my console and the Helix 7 Sonar G1 for my Trolling motor. Should I tweak anything on it or should i be able to roll with out the box settings.

    I don't have a 7 but all HB's come ready to go; plug and play. Time on the water is the main learning tool. Online videos and the manuals will get you going...

    I had to adjust all settings on mine. Also I had to adjust them for every screen.

    Adjust SI Chart speed to match boat speed (default 5 is usually way to fast) ...

    Adjust SI Sensitivity frequently to brighten/darken the screen ...

    Adjust SI pallete to ambient lighting conditions (sunny days need different palletes than cloudy days) ...

    Slower for SI for sure Rickie - though 2D when I do use it - usually a bit faster.

    Defaults do work well - but manually tweaking settings as suggested will get you so much more and better data it's not even FUNNY.
