    Default Lowrance HDS7 Gen3 Combo

Greetings, I recently purchased a 2012 Lowe Stinger 195. Prior owner pulled the electronics off the boat. I would like to do trolling in several area lakes. I'm looking at purchasing a Lowrance HDS7 Gen3 Combo from Cabela's and place at the console. I'm looking for a 2nd unit to be placed at the trolling motor and would like to network the 2 units together.

    Questions:
    1) For those of you who have networked units what are some of the advantages?

    2) What would be a 2nd unit I could use for networking? Looking for an older model unit that can be used for the next year or two and then purchase another HDS unit.

    3) Should I not worry about networking and just go with an older model unit?

    Thanks, Todd

Sonar Temp, Speed and depth,Sonar scroll data,Add waypoints,Full waypoint editing,Routes,Alarms,Data source settings,System settings,Radar,Weather. Could be a few other things too, and I think (not positive)if they are Gen2 or newer they'll share one map chip for depth contours.

yes they will share maps across the network. any gen2 non touch unit and up would be best for upfront
