UPS came today. Unpacked a new XI5. Right now on my garage floor. Can't wait to try it out. Problem right now is making sure garage door shuts. I may have a problem.

Thanks for the great feed back! Now I need to look at how to mount my transducer up front or maybe not. Cheers

Here's the great device!ha,ha,ha.I had the Ram pieces laying around from other projects,if I were to do it agian I go with next size bigger on the Ram stuff. It's pretty much a K.I.S.S project but it works pretty good.

Thank you sir. Always good to see all the various ways people approach problem solving. Do you find your Xi5 is accurate and will hold a spot?

After looking into the Xi5 a little more it seems it has a built in transducer which the lowrance HDS Gen II and newer can connect to. Am I correct on that point? I hope so cause I really don’t want more stuff hanging over the side than needed. If true I can just move my other finder to the back. Unfortunately it’s a side scan. Life just isn’t perfect is it.

Anchor lock works good on the xi5, it works best with a slight breeze or current that's trying to move the boat constantly,in dead calm conditions it sometimes does a lot of quick left/right movements.
