I have been a member of this great forum since Jan, 2010. I have asked and in some cases repeated some dumb questions , Never got a snide remark or a smart answer. These fisherman are eager to help and share their knowledge.
I know some of my questions are for verification and seem like"any dummy knows that". but have never been told that.Read a post recently about a fisherman who bought a sonar , only to find out it came without mapping. Guys look .....these guys are really interested in HELPING. I have no problem asking about things that I am interested in and may need answers. Some of These guys have great ideas and are willing to share that knowledge. Please use this valuable asset. I read alot of post especially when I see who was giving the answer. Using this great forum and the collectable knowledge will prevent alot of surprises when you get out on the water..............Waiting for favorable water conditions.....good luck, everyone and stay safe.......crappie1133

I will second that! I have been "lurking" on this site for a couple years now but just recently started applying all the knowledge I gained from reading. I am finding out I still have a lot to learn and have been asking some questions that I'm sure these guys have answered more than once but are always still willing to repeat themselves to help another. With guys like this I am not afraid to ask any questions. Thank you to all of you who have posted and given me more knowledge without even knowing it!

I’ll third it. I was admittedly clueless to all of the latest electronics, what worked with what, etc. when I joined this forum. I lurked for a long time but finally decided to start asking questions. I still don’t know near enough about electronics, but I have learned an invaluable amount already. Thanks to this forum I’m now the owner of a Helix 9, and feel like I’ve at least got a clue on where to start when I get it on the water. So to those of you who have answered (and will answer in the future) all of my probably dumb questions, thank you a bunch.

Just got on here today and already love it. Nothing beats good ol dads and grandads advice but sure does help getting in a group like this.

Thanks for this guys, I'm new to crappie fishing and this forum and I am clueless, been watching tons of YouTube videos but still can't seem to find the crappie. I've been reluctant to ask questions for fear of judgement, but hearing this will help me feel more comfortable with asking my dumb questions! Lol!

I have been crappie fishing over 40 yrs. if you count minnows and a cane pole . Fill the freezer most years -----but --- there are days that it just will not happen . Always looking for answers weather it comes from a guide , aged veteran or a new guy to the sport . I have seen first year fishermen and some that fish their first year 25 times! lol I am 62 and it has not been long since a 14 ft. Jon boat, a 100 dollar depth finder, 15 hp. mercury,30 lb. thrust trolling motor and five different jigs was my world . If not for arthritis, I would most likely still be sculling . PS . got addicted to eating crappie under these conditions . Never feel that a questions is to dumb. You will be surprised how many will learn from your questions, including me !

I know what you mean eagle1. I fished 40+ years from a rig just like that skulling around the willows of the Ms. oxbows and caught
more fish than I ever thought about catching in my tracker. I thought the red was scaring them off but, Rees assured me that that was not it. So I guess it is a skill for the big 4 that I have not perfected yet.

I agree. I've fished all my life but I'm new to crappie fishing. I'm also not shy about asking questions, even stupid questions. Everyone has been very helpful on this site and I've already met three genuinely really nice guys from the site. Great site, great folks.

We all learn by asking questions ...

Rickie I have not seen a post here from Humminbird Greg here in a long time what gives. He helped me make up a cable one time and was on here a lot back then.
Be safe and good luck fishing
