Gen 1 is 9 or bigger to network. Gen 2 has to have the G2N. Mega can only be displayed on linked G2N.

Asking this question for a friend
Does the helix units have to be gen 2 N to be able to network together! He is looking at getting a helix 7 and a 9 or maybe a 9 and a 10 but what ever he goes with he wants to be able to network em.and he is convinced that to be networked they have to be gen 2 N ?.I was thinking as long as they were a 9 or bigger They could be networked even if they were gen 1 ?

HELIX G1 in 9, 10, and 12" ...
HELIX G2N in 7, 9, 10, 12" ...
Core legacy numbered series 700 HD, 800, 900, 1100
All can be networked with certain limitations ...
MEGA 1200kHz can only be shared to G2N ...
CHIRP can only be shared to a CHIRP unit ...
------
Older xx8 series core units can only share "like" Sonar technologies ...
No mapping shared period in any units except ONIX and SOLIX ...
