    Default Sonar Differences?

Looking at the Helix 7 SI and the Garmin 73 SV. Both appear to have similar capabilities, according to the specs anyway. Curious as to why the Hummingbird is so much more expensive than the Garmin? Is it just brand name? Or is there more to it. Thanks!

Not sure....I'm looking at the Helix models on their site that has SI, DI, Chirp sonar, GPS and maps. In all the sources I've checked (Cabelas, BPS, Amazon, etc.) The comparable Hummingbird models were more expensive. I'm just curious as to why? Not sure if it's because Garmin is less reliable, or of lesser quality? Appreciate any feedback.

I got the 73SV for Christmas and recently took it out to test it and love it. I am sure the Helix are good units but the 73SV is all I will ever need.

I think the 73sv will only share Waypoints thru NMEA ...

THE HELIX 7 CHIRP SI GPS G2N will share Waypoints, Accessories, and Sonar thru Ethernet ...

When you get ready to buy check with our sponsors. They beat the big box stores for price and usually by quite a bit.

That is correct they have to be wired together to share waypoints.

Part of your decision should be to look at the lakes you fish and who has the best maps for that lake Garmin is limited to what maps you can use. There are some things about the Humminbird that are really nice to have if you ever wanted 360, I Pilot link, I believe the 7 has auto chart live now depth highlight which I use all the time and more just not sure what is all on the 7 since I run the Hbird 1198 and Helix 12 gen1.
