Does the boat scale option exist on the Ultrex? That might explain my lag response time.
Thanks John!! I just checked this out on my new Terrova with just the Ipilot, and mine has this boat scale option too. Can't wait to give it a try in a couple weeks.
I have a boat scale option of +1 and +2, also -1 and -2 , so you're saying if i go to the - , it will be more of a gentle return to my spotlock location?
What time is it? IT'S CRAPPIE TIME!John Wells LIKED above post

It should be on the new 2017 version .... probably not the G1

Looking for the one that makes it all worthwhile.
I called and chatted with Minn Kota yesterday and wanted to add Ipilot add-on to my Power Drive V2 that I purchased in April 2016 to see if they had upgraded the Spot Lock on it, and was told they had no intentions of adding the 2017 Spot Lock on anything else other than the 3 exhisting trolling motors they had it already added on for 2017. I would have to buy a 2017 trolling motor that already offered it if I wanted the new Spot Lock. They have no plans to add the new spot lock to anything else. Just a FYI.

When the new spot lock first came out, people were converting their old to the new by buying the new individual parts and replacing them. Then MinnKota caught wind and stopped selling the external GPS puck. I think if you want one now, you have to send them the old one.

I guess I should have read the owners manual because I didn't know the boat scale option existed. Very excited to get out and try it on my boat. I went way overboard by installing a 112 because I fish some fast current in the rivers. I have almost been dumped in the water with a sudden direction change.
Thanks for the info.

Yes, the negative numbers will soften it up. I have a 20' SeaArk with Merc 150, and I set mine on -1. Another thing I like over my old minnkota edge is the motor soft start the ulterra has. It soft starts in all modes, no jerky starts. I switched the sound mode to 1, so less beeping.

From what I'm told, had Terrova and waiting on Ultrex, the main difference is, with the new technology, as soon as you start drifting away from spot, the TM turns on. Then it will adjust speed accordingly to keep you in that 2-4 foot ring. The older technology wouldn't start the motor until you drifted 5' from the spot. Then it would start slow and keep speeding up to get you back to the spot. Problem I experienced was it would keep going past the spot then turn and try to get you back. This would cause a lot of excess movement. This new spot lock should fix that issue!
