    Default Linking Humminbirds ?

New to linking FF. I have a Helix 9 SIDI , lakemaster card-with HD transducer. Wanting to buy a smaller or maybe older unit for bow. Do I have to have another card, or will they both run off 1 card at the same time ?

Only ONIX can share a mapping card ...

You will need a map card for each unit ...

Do you need help with Ethernet parts needed ...??

Also I am purchasing a Terrova 80/24v Ipilot/Ilink . Do they have built in ducers ? Or is it better to buy a TM mount?

If your bow unit is a xx8 model, you only need one Ethernet Adapter Cable AS EC QDE and an Ethernet cable of suitable length AS EC XXE (XX=length). If your bow unit is a xx9 model or newer, you will need two Ethernet Adapter cables and an Ethernet Cable of suitable length. If you are adding a second unit and the Ipilot/link then you will need to add an Ethernet Switch AS ETH 5PXG. The built-in transducers on the TMs are only 2D and do not provide imaging. They are sometimes optional when ordering the TM. If you go with a DI unit on bow, be sure and use the TM version of transducer with added shielding to help reduce chances of RFI.

I have an 899 HD SI and an 859 HD linked together with my Terrova iPilot Link tm. The transducer in the tm is "ok" for 2D but I have both units set to share the single HD transducer mounted at the transom. This way I only needed to mount one ducer. Works just fine for me.

Thanks guys !! What are you guys thought on the HB 899ci HD SI ? Looking at a slightly used one w/extended warranty. I have Helix 9 at console now. Wanted 899 for bow , but does not have upgraded trolling motor transducer. Could get pricey ?? How would standard transducer do with Terrova ?

HB warranty is only valid to the original owner of the purchaser receipt ... and the warranty is only for 1 year past the date on the original receipt unless the unit was entered into the Humminbird Select Program at original purchase (which extends the warranty 1 extra year - for a total of 2 years) ..

There are no other HB manufacturer's warranties ... dealers may (or may not) offer different warranties specific to their own terms ...

Be careful if anyone tells you there is warranty on a used HB unit ... HB will ask for the original receipt for manufacturer warranty service ...

I have a HB 899 ci HD SI and I am very pleased with it it has helped me find all sorts of stuff in the lake I fish not even talking about finding fish with it. You should be able to link it with the Helix 9 and be able to share the transom transducer and a lot of other things from the Helix 9. There are kits to be able to use a transom transducer on the trolling motors also. Rickie makes a apparatus that will accommodate any and all transducers also.
