Default Reason for connecting two Humminbird Ff

I currently have a 999 si on my boat in the back. I just bought a 899 for the front. Is there a reason I should connect the two units by ethernet? I am using the ipilot Terrova and planned on just connecting the 899 to the trolling motor.

Ethernet allows sharing of waypoints, Accessories, and Sonar data ...

Some guys like being able to "see" stuff on 1 unit from the other unit ...

My units are set up like yours. Wish I had linked themselves. Sharing of waypoints would be a big plus
