You need to be travelling in a straight line to get the good quality pix from SI. We move our TM's a lot to keep our boats going straight....so an item like the 'da ducer would be a big help. I like SI at the console with the transducer on the transom, and DI on the bow. Still get a little "smear" from moving the TM, but for vertical jigging it works well.

I mostly am on the move spider rigging. mrdux, Podunk site is down right now. Says he'll be back up tomorrow. Thanks for the response. Not sure what the da ducer is yet.

Rickie's in New Orleans with his wife and will be back tonight.
I longline and pull cranks 95% of my time on the water so moving constantly is my normal mode. The da ducer lets me put whatever transducer I want to use in the water off the front of the boat whenever I want to use my front unit. Using SI on a trolling motor looks like a set-up for total confusion trying to keep up with what the image is saying. My SI transducer is on the transom. Strictly DI/2D on the bow.

Darryl .... the "da ducer" is a device that acts like a trolling motor shaft, in that you can raise/deploy it like a trolling motor ... but, it's stationary in relation to the boat, so you can mount the transducer on the bottom and it won't turn (like the head of the trolling motor), but remain pointing forward just like it would if mounted on the transom.

The more I think about it the more it makes since to mount it on the transom. Have an older 788ci on the trolling motor now. Guess I'll mount the SI on the transom and stay with that set up for now. Do appreciate the advice/info though!

Doin OK, buddy !! I'd ask you the same, but I see you bailed on us and went to Fla
Still fishing T-ville ... and actually catching some decent sized fish. Posted reports in this thread :

Now that I know the fish are decent size & in good numbers, I may start going back there more often in the coming year. Well, if the weather allows me to, that is ... you know how quick/often T-ville can flood in the Spring

I run SI on both ends of the boat.
Why would you want to look at SI info a whole boat length after you passed it???
Get Rickie's "Da Ducer Apparatus"
It's a nice deal .....
