Got new unit for christmas have not seen Fish Arch yet ! When it marks it shows sqaures or blobs going across screen. I have looked on internet and read book for help still no arch. Played with sensitivity ,chart speed, zoom ect. From what I have read this is a popular promblem just have to get settings right I guess. Have to be moving to get arch also any help on settings please. Thanks

i have an hds 7 since last year, i fish 15 ft or less for crappie. have yet to see an arch---lines, blobs, etc have adjusted transducer, settings etc. transducer is where you should check first, make sure its in proper position. hope this advice gives you better results than it did me. i just use the symbols and thats great

I set my lowrance sensitive about 72 ,idle boat and the deeper the fish the better the arch,it should arch at 12 to 15 feet good if they come under CENTER of boat. I tilt transducer a little forward for fast speed which hinder a little the coming down side of the arch ,but even then if just right still give full arch, however if clear you do not need full arch. Are you sure those blocks are not bait fish ?

if you are in real shallow water the fish might not be in the coverage area long enough for arch.you might try deeper water to see if every thing ok

Make your own "artificial fish" for testing the making of arches...

Take a fish sized object (coffee cup or something similar)...
    Attach "artificial fish" to line...
Lower "artificial fish" into water at a certain depth...
Pass "artificial fish" thru sonar's cone at a steady rate...
    Try different depths....
    Try different unit settings....

At least with this test ..... You know for a fact that the "artificial fish" is passing thru the cone ...

Well may be a good tip but I will have to start now so by spring I will have a fish trained to swim under boat to test arch. Anybody with any good ideas how to train fish in fish bowl ???????banghead

Why you need an arch when you have down imaging overlay? Lots easier to read.

i am clearly stumped! Cane Pole help me out. What kind of fish display do i get with overlay? and i have another question for you. on the structure scan "down" does your screen go all the way to the top or do you have a colored line 1/4 in or so on the top? just asking cause i have a colored line.
