    Default uv enhancer

On another board we've been yacking about uv enhancer in plastic. I dug these guys out of my bait pail that's been in the boat yet for most of the winter. They needed a bath before I thought they'd be nice enough to show but they cleaned up nice. One has a hook hole in it but its not real visible.

These were shot as a simple low-light bait. Both of the body colors have the enhancer in them as does the cover dip. These caught fish a full hour before other people began to catch even when they used bait and glow jigs. I'm pretty much sold on the enhancer and it gets put in much more than my transparent and light colors. I've used it in a cover dip on black and seen an increase in hit numbers.

Nice, I have been using a mix of glow and UV on my heads but have not tried plastic. Great idea. Of course I have to ask where you got it and how you did it? Thanks......

This will show you the do-it stocked powder product that is like powder paint, but it is compatible with the plastics used for making soft baits. When added and cooked it is as clear as a bell, but it does have to be added to raw plastic and cooked. Spike-it makes a product that's liquid and is designed for use with the raw plastic. This is what I use.

That is a Do-It mold called the small fry, 1.75". Caney Creek designed it before they sold to Do-It. Its a mainstay crappie and panfish bait in this size.

Keep your baits out of the bright sun and they'll look good for years. These had some sludge on them but washed up nice and then they got a rinse in alcohol.

Ive been using the spike it uv enhancer for over a year now. The only thing negative i found is it will give your dark colors a blue hue. Black being the worst obviously! You dont notice it until you get them out in the sunlight (uv). In the shop they look normal. Found this out AFTER i had made 300 black with chart tail fry's. Took one outside and it looked like crap lol.

With the super cold weather we've had on our doorstep this winter I have had to curtail my plastics work to just a quick shoot or two in the house. The garage has a temp right now of 8 degrees....I don't do anything in the garagage at 8 degrees other than park the van and take the trash out. I'm having to wait until spring decides to spring to get serious enough to sell any.
