    Default First timer

Got all my supplies to build 20 stake buckets. I’ve got 20 buckets, 10- 80pound bags of concrete. And a bunch of busted pallet slats and other misc wood. Any tips for a first timer? I was thinking 20 pounds/ quarter of a bag per bucket. They are less than 5 gallon. I’m thinking 3.5.
I’ll gladly listen to any tips or suggestions. Gona try to rig them up tomorrow night.
    Thanks!

    Jesse

I have seen some posts where they put the lids on the buckets and cut them in half. That way you will have 40 half buckets. A half bucket which will be all you need when using pallet wood sticks most of the time. You will need to figure how much concrete to use then to sink these buckets. PVC is not hardly buoyant as wood and bamboo is very buoyant as it has air chambers between each bamboo joint. There fore you would need way more weight to sink bamboo than wood or PVC. Hard woods are heavier than light woods also so the heavy woods take less extra weight to sink it. Fish habitat" Build it and they will come"

Most of the boards I have are between 2-3 ft but some are as long as 6 ft, should I try to keep them around the same lengths?

Had a great day today. Ran out of pallets but found someone who needed a lot of bamboo removed so I figured I’d try it! I filled my truck and didn’t even make a dent in the bamboo patch. Gotta go back later this week to get more. I’ve now got a total of 14 buckets done with 6 more I gotta finish.
