I’m no Brewer pro but I do know that guys do pretty well fishing over the deep brush in the summer time. Check out the brunch pile locations on the AGFC interactive map on www. AGFC.com

I went to lake brewer for the first time Sunday and got totally skunked caught some bass but bass are trash fish in my book. What’s the secret to lake brewer? We fished the stumps and brush close to the bank and some brush in deeper water and caught nothing but bass. I know theirs supposed to be a good crappie population in that lake. What’s the key to catching them?? I was baffled that we didn’t catch any.

It has been fishing tough for me too, I haven't found the springtime fish in their normal spots. And Bass fisherman have been known to pull in the slabs on brewer as they frequent the same cover.
Brewer has not fished normally for me this year. Best advice I can give is stick with brush piles and grind it out.
Brewer is a tough lake for me too. I have only had luck during the summer despite the reports of some catching them all around the bank during the spring spawn time. I used to hit it quite a bit, but the river is just a little further down the road and my rod seems to catch much bigger fish there.
