Default Still too much water , wind and cold

Dang this storm dumped enough water to start rising Nimrod , Blue Man and the Arkansas River again which all were falling once again . When is the weather and water going to get normal levels ? Tired of all the water , wind and low temps . Not a normal spring at all .

I've been fishing this high water since the end of February trying to learn how to fish it. My catch ratio is 38 percent of
this time last year. I wish I had kept up with days I fished. Not nearly as many as last year. I have been turning down
days with wind above 10 mph before noon. The only pattern I have established is having a decent catch today doesn't
mean a thing early the next morning. You may catch in the teens today and 3 tomorrow fishing the same area and
pattern. And one day they will be close to the bank in 3 to 5 foot water, the next they will be 8 to 10 in open water
of any depth. Jigs will work one day, the next day you can't buy a fish without a minnow. Lots of moving around.
    Tell'em I'll be there.

We fished Ouachita yesterday. Headed up a creek looking for white bass. We found a few, but also found so much inflow current that my TM on 10 could barely hold position. The wind and cold were miserable for mid April.

I went by the Weigh-in area at Lake Dardanelle state park yesterday morning about 8:30 and there was not even one truck or boat trailer in the parking lot !!. It was 36 degrees and the wind, waves, and muddy water reminded me of what the ocean looked liked at Galveston, TX a couple of summers ago when a big storm was blowing in. I don't see how there could be any fish in shallow water the way the waves were crashing on the East and Northern banks of the lake. Of course we were having sustained winds of 18 mph with gusts to 35 mph. Tough weather for fishing or turkey hunting !!

I drove by Dardanelle twice yesterday, once on the way to Ft.Smith once on the way back. Didn't see but one boat and they looked to be after green carp. The water looked like chocolate milk.

I was telling a guy at church yesterday the same thing! I said I’m sick and tired of it being nice during the week and then Saturday and Sunday being the nastiest days of the week! Ready for it to stay in the 70’s for a while!
