    Default OPINIONS ?

I live near Lake Norfork. I have learned that I do better night fishing for crappie under a light, than day time fishing. Those of you that night fish is it too early to start? Is there a certain night time air temp or water temp that you look for? Thanks all opinions welcome.

Wish I could help you! We have a small cabin up at norfork lake near cranfield area. Mostly just use it during the summer etc.. Never crappie fished that lake a day in my life. Why I have no idea? Me and dad are gonna give it our first try next weekend while we are up there scouting for turkeys. I know they are there just need to put the time in to figure them out. Maybe someone can help us both out.

I've fished it a little both night and day usually during the summer. During the day I've only done fair by trolling crankbaits. I like to single pole jigs usually tightlining, but I've never done any good that way there. I suspect that's because the water there is so clear that they spook too easy. I would imagine you would have to find some brush piles and cast to them to keep from spooking them. Jackie53 knows how to catch them there you might pm him and I'd bet he'll help you.

Thanks for the replies, but you have all missed the question. How early in the season should I switch from day time to night time fishing under a light. I caught a lot of fish last year at night but I did not start till late June. I am just wandering from some of you PRO"S, should I wait till after the spawn to fish at night or should I start night fish now in hope of picking up some pre-spawn fish. Thanks again, Tony

I would think you can catch them at night year round

I would say it would be better after the spawn when they start moving to there summer time retreats

Right now especially a couple hours before daylite and a couple hours after dark.Really like fishing the Bridge pier's at Henderson at night 20-25 ft of water. Rosey Red minnow's if you can find them .Lite jigheads 1/48-1/24 oz jigheads black/chart,white /chart one of these color's will work.also like fishing the Game and fish brush piles. Also the bluff end's in 20-25 ft of water.Fish light line 2-6 lb test.Might check the Ozark angler web site for night info on crappie at night..Be careful on the water at night anything can and will happen.wear your life jacket be safe have fun.Keep what you can use release the rest.Good fishing.

Jackie could I certainly expect either pigeon creek or walkers area to be pretty stained this coming weekend with the rain we just got? I marked some good stuff a while back when my oldest boy was fishing a youth bass tourney there. I'm early to bed and early to rise so no night fishing here for me!!
