Default 2014 what will it bring

Well guys, I have been thinking long and hard on a few ideas. First being a statewide crappie trial for the Arkansas folks. Not a tourney for money but a once a month gathering of folks to fish different lakes around the state. Dates can be the same weekend day once a month and if you can come so be it and if not then make the next one. Maybe just a big fish bragging right kinda thing too. All crappie or fish caught can be utilized in a small fish fry and gathering to fellowship. What this would entail is lakes around the state listed and then voted on. Second someone from each area lake picked be available to render assistance in picking a launch ramp. We have a ton of folks from all different areas of the state and would be nice to meet and fish some of there home waters.

Is there any interest in this and if so any lake suggestion?

Understand no one person will make all events myself included! This may also give folks that live close or fish the same waters a chance to meet each other.

A thought would be once month just put a post up and say fish gathering lake ........ (Same weekend). Sign up and see who is interested. Worse case scenario you fish your home water alone lol.

    Thoughts and suggestion welcomed.

Great idea JW as long as it don't get too big. Our little fish frys on Nimrod have worked out great with Mickey and Melba , Steve48 and Hellen , and a few others.

Amen nimrod, no intention of a spring camp fling every month! Just trying to put folks together and have a good time. No pressure on any person to fix anything or provide anything. If no fish are caught then it could be a bologna sandwich get together after the day fishing. We have made some great memories and had many laughs from our get togethers.

Here are some areas i know to fish. Dardanelle, brewer lake, harris brake, conway, pine bluff harbor, lake greeson, nimrod, blue mountain, white river refuge, lake Hensley to name some i know. Let's hear what other other lakes everyone else knows.

This gathering could also be a trip to Mississippi to visit some of there fine fishing. Some reluctant folks may elect to go if they know other people going. Fishing water non familiar can be ntimidating for sure. There are many possibilities .

If only one day, my fishing partner and me would make some of these.
Seems I can never make the spring camp thing.......
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in a pretty, well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming "WOW what a ride".

Sound good to me. Maybe we can get RCC to give a class on catching the monster slabs out off Poinsett.

That's the bad thing about NE Arkansas. Poinsett and Hogue are some of the best ones that are public.
