    Default White river (no crappie)

Trout camp 2013 was a success. Every year me and about 15 - 20 coworkers go to the white river to Roses trout dock near where the North Fork runs into the White. We stay in a cabin for the weekend and have a good ole time. This year the fishing was decent not great. We caught our share of rainbows and a few browns. I won our big fish pot on Saturday with a 15 1/2 inch brown so we definitely weren't pulling in big fish . I was happy the river was flowing all weekend...last year there was no generation and I ruined a prop . Here is a picture of the brown trout. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1372102477.920053.jpg

I was very fortunate to catch my first small mouth on this trip...here is a picture it was also 15 1/2 inches. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1372102573.661539.jpg

I didn't realize how much variety I would catch in a creek off the white but I landed a decent largemouth. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1372102632.127987.jpg

I had such a good time and I can't wait until next year to do it all over again!!! By the way I cleaned everyone's clock in poker so after paying my part of the rental, food and gas I wound up money ahead! Not a bad weekend at all!

There were a group of guys that used to do that on the Little Red every year in May. Was always a good time.
    Glad you enjoyed it!

I really like catching Small Mouth Bass. I have fished some of the creeks up that way. Beautiful clear waters most places. Sounds like you had a good trip.

Good cool place to go fish when it gets hot , I used to spend the summer fishing little red , early mornings in late July can have wearing a jacket before the sun comes up , and those big browns are amazing jumpers, congrats looks like a sweet trip to me !!

I need to get up to the Little red and give it a try. Does it compare to the white in size or is it smaller. Main thing I am curious about is can I take my boat and navigate the river?

That small mouth was the highlight of my weekend for sure. I am thinking about taking a trip somewhere and targeting small mouths. Any suggestions where I can get into a bunch of them at? Any tips would be welcome for catching them also!!!
