Been wondering my self, I thought I was one of the lucky few that could fish everyday. Anymore I am never alone on the water.
Does ANYBODY work anymore?
Been retired two years. Promised myself I'd not fish on weekends any more. Even have my own website dedicated to it:
Welcome to www.weekdayfisherman.com/
But now it seems that every day I go, the ramp is crowded. Doesn't matter what day. Monday is the WORST, though.
Not all old retired guys either. Every age. $50 throw in boats. $50,000 hair-on-fire bass boats. Everything. Every body.
Either the entire world is Disabled (and thus the reason the Arkansas disabled license plates are now up to 285,824, or 10% of our population), or unemployed, or independently wealthy, or just retired at some early age.
Is there any crappie in Wyoming, reckon??

I do just get to fish on the weekend if I do have a service call or job that has to be done for chick placement on Monday. Will like it when I can be a no weekend fisherman just 12 more years.
Making me feel better about not being able to fish during the week. Yes, I am at work.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in a pretty, well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming "WOW what a ride".
I get off work at 11:30am. While I'm out in the mid afternoon the early crowd is leaving and a whole new crew arrives from 2-5 on Dardanelle. On my way there now.
Uhhhh, work? Oh, you mean I can't just leave and go fishing? I guess thats me.
Yep. I gotta figure out how to get me one of them retirement gigs so I can contribute to midweek overcrowding on the lake!
Tony, it's easy.
First, you borrow more than you knew existed and get a college degree. It took more than money in my case, it took help of some smart tutors.
Second, get a 'SAFE' job. It will not pay much. And in my case, it wasn't even safe, I got fired when a certain governor left office.
Third, find a SAFER job. It will pay even less. It was even less safe, too, because 45% of the company got laid off in my tenure there. I was too low, under the radar, and escaped.
Fourth, forego paying the bills, don't buy anything, and put 16% of your salary in a 401k for as long as you can. Invest in whatever is opposite of what I invested in!!
Fifth, somehow survive the Widowmaker (L.A.D.) heart attack. (Note: this does let you play the sympathy card at work every once in a while). Make it to about 62, 63, or so.......and just say "BYE".
That is all.
I hear by promise to not 'hotbed' the brushpile. Not that it will make a difference anyway. I'll be busy trying to pass RCC on the was to the shoreline because I forgot to do my business before getting to the brushpile.
