We caught 1 male and 10 females yesterday afternoon in West Sandy. Water temp was 51-53 degrees. They not ready for nest duty here yet.
Over the last 10 days at Reelfoot almost all of my fish have been females. When i say almost all I mean 90% have eggs. Catching them in roughly 5 feet of water. Been hitting the shallow trees thinking maybe the males are moving in but only caught a few and they are not there yet.
Any thoughts as to why this is. Usually catch more males than femals almost always??

I watched a friend clean 16 crappie monday, not a single fish had eggs.
Tuesday went to Blood River, cleaned 14 and about half were full of eggs. Caught one male white that's tale was torn up like it may have been workin on a nest, but believe CanePole is right. Don't believe its quite time yet.

no its not time. I just wonder why out of all the fish I ahve caught why 9 out of 10 are female. This is a first for me
Yesterday I cleaned 20 I brought home and only 3-5 were females. The biggest one was a female, report on the MS board. The males were starting to get color. I had 4 black crappie, all males, we have both blacks and whites. I was fishing in 7-11 FOW and the surface temp was 60-61 degrees.
