Going by my memory,(this is dangerous ground) I can only count seven LA members....... In S.LA: Deacon,Sacalait Steve, Pooch, Davey Barr and JnT. In N.LA: Tommy and myself. Some of the S.LA members work 2 in and 2 out, so that reduces our reports significantly in the duration of the month. Tommy also works a job that takes him off for a week or more, so there goes a another report. That leaves you, possibly JnT, ( I don't know what their work situation is..) and myself.....and I'm usually tied up here at the house. Hey Steve, we're doing great for no more members than we have! I'm still working to find more thru free ads related to th' biz. The best advertisment is by word of mouth, but I will have to rely on what members we have to help spread the word. I was glad to see you and Deacon start posting, you guys fish often enough to keep things moving along with your reports and commentary. That alone is a big help. Good fishing, Steve.

Yea,I know what you mean I have talked to a few people I know to start posting
and I'm still waiting for some replies.I think the next time someone calls my home
(which i don't mind) asking where the fish are I'll tell them to go to crappie.com.
and find out and to leave a post on their results.

    Default Good idea......

I like your resourcefulness. I posted three more ads last night, maybe they will get some results. I need to find a way to reach people that are as avid about fishing as the members we have in this site. I could look thru some of the bass sites that allow posting of ads, might reach some interested fishermen and women there. I'll work on that next.

You could all buy a crappie.com t-shirt and wear it to the tackle shop, boat launch, bait shop etc. Same with bumper stickers and decals.
    One taste of the bait
is worth the pain of the hook

    Default Decals.....

Kunes.....Thanks for the suggestions. Haven't gotten a t-shirt yet, but I've made some prints of the crappie.com logo and my buddy had them laminated and are now all over his truck and boat. He gets a lot of honks and "thumbs up" on the road, but so far no takers. If we could just get people to look at the site I'm sure we could get some of them interested in registering. We're open to any suggestions available......drop us a post. Good luck to all.

Well I agree I too was one that never posted untill my brother Deacon told
me he was posting on this web page and I thought I'd give it a try .People
think you have to be a pro are always catching lots of fish for others
to be interested in what you have to say but by just chating with people
not only from this area but also other states you really can never say you
know everything about fishing there is so much to learn and so much
unknown about what makes fish especially sacalait even the different names
they are called makes them so interesting for years I would only fish for
bass but bass are so easy to figure out I really love sacalait fishing more
though I always look forward to a good bass tournament now and then
AS a matter of fact me and my buddie throw a bass tournament every
year in March out of Toledo Bend and we are even getting guys who
go with us like Deacon to catch sacalait now they are thinking of
having a sacalait tournament while we fish bass and you Know what
I think this sounds more exciting. I guess what I'm tring to say is for years
all you ever heard about was bass fishing I used to call Sacalait fishing perch jerkers but it's sooooo much more than that.

Hey, Steve......If we all had to be a pro to post here, there would be a bunch of that would have to leave, including myself. This is a fun site and we all enjoy reading the posts, and posting our own reports. I spend a lot of time on the computer, but when I get burned out running ads and staring at ledger sheets, I just go to the forum and spend 30 or 45 minutes reading and posting replys, then I can go back to work for another couple hours. It's a good distraction from the daily grind. There are a bunch of good fishermen and women here, and I learn new techniques every day. That's what the site is all about, and I like it!

I like bass fishing too, but I'm thinking crappie fishing is just as enjoyable, if not more than bassin'. There is nothing more fun than pulling out a nice slab. Well, there are a few things more fun, but not many. I have a question Steve, how do you handle a tournament that's for bass and crappie? Does one fish for crappie and the other fish for bass? (I think I'm about to learn something new.) It does sound more exciting, but you'll have to educate me on how it's done. Toledo Bend is a good lake, but I don't fish it very often. There are so many lakes closer that I would rather fish so that I don't spend my time driving. In fact, I caught my biggest bass on Toledo. Crappie fishing there is very good also. An old oil field buddy lives on the Bend North of the Pendelton bridge, he sends me reports and pics of his catch, and he catches limits right off his pier. What a life......

Well labill this year may be the first. If it is we will have two antees and two
purses.depending on how many people opt to fish sacalait will determen
how many places winnings there will be. Right now we have about 15 two
man teams fishing for bass with pay outs going to 4 places. Its a three
day tournament with a 5 fish limit daily to a combined weight of the three
days. What makes some want to fish for sacalait is last march Deacon
came with us and fished with our nephew for sacalait.I showed them a
spot that I normally do good in and me and my partner fished for bass
close by well the bass weren't cooperating very much and every time I
looked back Deacon and my nephew were netting a slab but I was fishing
a bass tournament and had no sacalait equipment. needless to say we stayed
an extra day after the tournament and went fishing sacalait withmy bass
    rods.
