Sod it if you can afford it and the lawn isnt that big
If you have a large yard then a tall fescue would work well
Bermuda loves the sandy soil though
I have recently built a house and need some advice on grass. I live in southeast Georgia and need some expert opinions on what would be the best type of grass to plant. The soil is a sandy loom and the yard would get 6 - 8 hours of sun per day. I plan to put in a sprinkler system so water would not be a problem. Any suggestions?

Birddog,
I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast I then most humbly pray. When in the Lord's great landing net and peacefully asleep. That in His mercy I be judged, BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.

If you go with sod,ask if it is disease resistant. Most sod companies use cheap seed.
You sure don't want bluegrass, the heat will kill it. I use Rebels Supreme, nice stuff.

i used to live in cairo and centipede will provide a good lawn for an in-expensive cost. st. augustine will do but it is more expensive. p.s. i have worked in the lawn care industry for over 11 years.
