haven't been there myself, but all the lakes in and around this part of the country hold ideal limits of fish, get your line wet and keep a few.
Hey Guys, I am from south Alabama and I am planning on going to Smith lake to do some fishing. Mostly for crappie. I have never fished there before and just wondering if any of you fish there often and might could tell me the best way to fish. They say the water is clear. That is something that I am not used to. thanks.....

LakeHardingSpirit, I have fished over in your neck of the woods. I usually go to Bluff Creek every year. There on the Chatahoochee. Off of 165.. Always catch a lot of fish. Crappie and Catfish.. Take Care...

Last time I fished Smith was over 20 years ago with a school mate. Only details I remember was we were well up one of the large feeder creeks, and the water was clear. We fished submerged brushpiles and a bridge with poor results.
(We went up the creek to the shallows and caught a boatload of white bass.)
Bham News should have a lake report tomorrow.
