long line trolling with horsehead jigs

Seems like I read somewhere here that it was better to use curly tail grubs when doing the above due to line twist. Don't know a lot about long line trolling but think I may try it this year. Any thoughts?

Good question. I've never done it myself but, I was just told on here to use my 1/8th oz. RoadRunners for that.
I wasn't quick enough to ask about dressings.

Whats the consensus?

Should have also asked about using them single or adding a plain jig above the HH jig.

I use the 1/8 and 1/4 oz with a 2 or 3 inch curlytail grub. It does help with the line twist but you need to get them on there straight and not lopsided. I use one jig and i do not know what would happen to the line twist if you went to two. Keep in mind that when i go to this bait the fish are pretty active and up in 12 foot or less. I'm trolling pretty fast and would not be considered a slow troll.

Don't know much about the line twist,but I use 1/8 roadrunners and some homemade horsehead jig all the time,I just use hot grubs or sliders which ever one the fish are biting the best,lots of times when the water temp makes it into the 50 I just tip them with a live minnow,sometime if the wind is strong I will tie a 1/8 hair jig on with the horsehead jig,mostly to help keep it down in the strike zone.

I have never had much of a problem with line twist on grubs or roadrunners while trolling .
