I am bringing my 6 and 7 year old grand sons down to Douglas June 10 - 15 to fish. Where are you catching the bluegill? How deep are they? Any help appreciated. I am trying to get these guys interested in fishing.
Well right now they are full of eggs and on the nest so they are everywhere we always put in at inspiration point in muddy creek we fish from point be around to the right past some brush piles and we always catch some there if the water was up still do now after there we go to point A and from from the little neck around to the right down that bluff if these dont do well go down to the main channel on the left is point 6 fish around it and up the long bluff to the left i always throw as close in to the bank/rocks as i can i even bounce off them alot with a size 6 bated with night crawlers hook and a #3-5 sinker about 6 inches above the hook and just reel it back really slow I have caught catfish off this crappie off this bass off this setup
there are other places to fish for gills on Douglas i just have never fished them but i know muddy creek in these places will put you on some fish i may be down there then myself if i am i will be in a brown cheetah with a 115 evinerude.
Thank you for the info.
I see the locations on my Hot Spots map.
We are staying in homes on McGuire Creek so Muddy Creek should not be a problem. Look for an old '81 Sea Nymph with a 90 horse Evinrude from Indiana or a 24' Fisher I/O Pontoon from Indiana full of kids and get as far away as possible.
Baditude, what lake were you fishing or were you fishing a private pond?
i hit two different areas - one was Williamsport (twra managed family lakes) off hwy 50 and the other place is a small 18 acre pond also managed by twra but not a pay lake near mt pleasant.
I have fished the Williamsort Lakes once as well as Laurel Hill Lake. They are all nice and I would fish them more if I lived in Columbia area. It is hard to drive that far when I live in the 'Boro and so close to JPP.
I have not been out lately as I have been caretaker for a wife that had jaw surgery.
Keep me posted.
What happened there Jaycee you tell her to shut up and she thought you said stand up.....Just joking hope all turns out well for her.I been getting out at nite and fishing for cats seems I cant get a crappie to get on my hook for anything.Guess I need a pro like yall to show me more ways at doing it.But then when daylight hits the bass are hitting real good on topwater spinners for me.
