Couldn't think of a better way to spend my birthday than going fishing. Arrived at Nickajack at 8:00 a.m and left at 12:00 p.m. The bite was constant....even though around 10:30 a.m the wind got up to gusts close to 30 MPH. It drove all the fisherman off the lake...including me eventually. I caught around 40 crappie today. More than enough measured out for a limit of 15. Used a Bison colored Trout Magnet fishing the same as before.....12-14 feet deep on a ledge wall. The retrieve was very slow with a slight twitch. The setup today was a Major Craft FineTail Banshee Area Trout Rod 6' 7" UL....love fishing the JDM rods! When the crappie thump it feels like a bolt of lightning hits your hand...LOL. The line used was SOS 2# test. Just another fun filled day. Going to take a break tomorrow and will hit it again Thursday. Life is good!

You are slaying them! For my clarification, you are using the smaller Trout Magnet as opposed to the Crappie Magnet?
Happy Bday Alpha. You knocked em in the head today!
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
Yes....at Nickajack.....for me...the crappie prefer the Trout Magnet. I have been fishing there for six years and many of the crappie I have cleaned had small black worms in their stomachs. On other bodies of waters I fish I will use a Crappie Magnet...or some paddle tail plastics.
