Minner soup!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hate feeding the fishes, but I guess that is the circle of life, I fed them, they will feed me.
Seriously, though, when your weekend is done what do you do with your left over minnows? I have a battery aerated minner bucket, but if I tried to keep a dozen or two alive and aerated until next weekend... well that is not cost effective.
I was thinking of buying an aquarium aerator and stone that runs on 120v and use that in the garage, change water, etc. Over the course of a season you'd save more than enough, but is it worth the PITA factor?

Minner soup!!!!!!!!!!!!
Build a small landscaping pond in the wife's flower garden by the porch. She will love you for it and the evenings listening to the fountain are nice. Minnows do well and will actually reproduce. Everybody wins!
That advise will get me convicted of a felony. We have herons and egrets that will be landing and eating them. My neighbor has a koi pond and I don't see how he keeps from it, they rob him blind.

How about crackers and onions maybe a little mustard . It will all slide down good. Lol
CATCH THEM ALL.
When we did use minnows, we would put them in our buddy's horse water trough.
I used to feed em to my chickens, now I give em away at the ramp.
Keep them in the aerator and every time you feed them, blow a whistle. Eventually they will associate the whistle with feeding time. Then let them go at your favorite lake. Next time you go to that lake, stand on shore and blow the whistle and they will show up. Then all you have to do is scoop them up and you're good to go.
