We have had 21 straight days of 94+ degree temperatures. All of the fishing reports say the crappies are so very deep unless you are on the water from 4am to 8 am. The next eight day forecast shows temperatures flirting with the triple digits. Be sure to hydrate yourselves when you are outside. Look for crappies in the shade or/and deep water. Use plastics or hair jigs because your minnows do not last long in the heat. If you have a Reel-lites setup you will not have a problem fishing in the dark.
My best catches this year have come on jilly jelly jigs and icicles. Hope to use some Crappie dentures next week. For those of you who have no clue to what I am saying I would invite you to peruse the DIY Plastics forum and the jig tying forum. Remember our freedoms are not free. Thank those you know who served in our military. Happy 4th of July everyone.

Heading out to a new lake for some bank fishing tomorrow- thanks for the tips. Maybe I can get lucky in our 100 degree heat here also.

Are you sure? You can't always go off the standard reports. They are reporting deep fish around here too, and caught a limit yesterday with all fish coming from 10' or less.
I get to go back fishing next week, took a week off to cook and brush hog. hope this heat in Mo. goes away soon. hard on an old fat man
some of the most oxygen rich water is 1-3 feet deep, especially when the water gets hot...
