In the most recent issue of In-Fisherman, there's a diagram of a two-jig set up using a surgeon's knot.
I am having problems with my top jig getting tangled in my line. I am using a surgeon knot and leaving a loop 18 inches above my bottom jig. I loop the jig head through the eye. That way I can change heads out fairly easy. I am using a 1/8 oz on bottom and 1/16 oz head on top. I am using a braided line that is rated at 20lb, and has 6lb diamater.
How to you guys tie your top jig on with out getting it tangled up?

.
We use a Palomar knot for the upper jig, Or tie the upper jig with a cinch knot leaving a 20 inch tag and then tie the lower jig to the tag with another cinch knot. Works for us.

I went to that site but couldn't find the knot. Can you be more specific on exact web address for that article. Thanks, I'm kind of a computer dummie.

I slide my top jig on, then tie on my bottom jig. Then, hold the top jig at the correct spot, and tie a double overhand loop about an inch long or so.
There was a link posted several days ago about different knots, it was very good but I forgot were it was, maybe you could look back and find it, I think the thread was entitled palomar knot? If anyone knows what I'm talking about and it wouldn't be to much trouble could you throw it up here?

It's probably the braided line that's causing your problems. Try tieing a small barrell swivel to the braid with a palamar knot and then using 4 - 10lb fluorocabon as your leader. I use four to six pound if there's no hanups around and eight to ten if there are some.
