Default 4’6” Daiwa Trout X Extra Ultralight

I’ve owned this one for a couple of years , just never fished it much .
Decided to give it a try this morning to get use to a shorter rod since I had ordered the 4’10” Majorcraft Finetail glass .
    I paired it up with a Daiwa Fuego LT 1000 , spooled with Daiwa J-braid X8 and a 3# Floroclear leader .
I began fishing this morning around eleven at Lake McIntosh using a .5g tungsten jighead with a shortened Bison Trout Magnet .
After catching ten including a couple nice gills and a bass I went creek fishing at Starr’s Mill for about thirty minutes only catching a small gill and a shiner on a micro spinner .
I left the creek and drove to Lake Kedron where I’d fished day before yesterday.
Using the .5g tungsten jig and TM , I caught seven , including a couple of colored up bluegills and a small shellcracker.

I fished for about three hours , mostly with the 4’6” Trout X and had a lot fun with the gills and especially the bass .
The Fuego makes a good looking combo and I had forgotten how smooth these reels are .
I like the rod a lot and plan on using it again soon .

Nice rig but nicer fish! We both had a good day. Posted about mine on the Florida board. Hope you get out to play some more soon.

Glad you had a good day. I do like a short rod, maybe I'll check it out.

Thanks . It’s a fun and cheap little rod . $62 including shipping on Amazon at the moment.

I also own the 5’ XUL in this rod . It’s actually cheaper than the 4’6” .

Man, I think the world of you guys, I've learned a lot and become a better fisherman since finding this site. I found out about JDM gear and tackle here and it has significantly raised my enjoyment of fishing. That being said, Y'all have to stop posting cool stuff! I need another rod like a hole in the head and I'll be darned if I didn't just order one of these

    Nice!!!

Shorter rods are way too much fun. I use a pflueger president combo (4' 8" rod/20 reel) when I fish in a kayak.
