Fishing the Little Red River truly is an UL anglers paradise. Tons of fish that will more than test any UL rod for sure…meaning tons of fun. Today I switched up rods. I used the Major Craft FineTail Stream 51 L action. Using a 21 Daiwa Presso 1000 reel spooled with the Varivas Infinity PE 5.# test line. Was casting a Forest 2.8 gram MIU Native abalone colored spoon. We anchored up above a shoal that was running about 2.5 feet deep. It was almost a fish on every cast. You could see a wake pushing to the spoon..then a killer hit! In 1.5 hours of fishing had 23 trout with many being 16-17 inches. These fish give you all you could hope for in fight. Not to mention they are beautifully colored up. It is rare to fish here and not catch a ton of fish….and that’s a good thing. I have 4 videos I need to get uploaded but am too busy checking on the new house….and of course fishing….LOL.
