    Talking Big G 21 Feb 22

Decided to make one of my bank fishing trips to a causeway on Hwy 79 this morning with a buddy. Started with minnows under lighted bobbers and we picked up a few, but good quality fish! Then as the sky started to lighten we switched over to jigs, throwing a double rig with 1/16 on the bottom and 1/24 on top. The fish cooperated nicely, but they were mostly small fish, they measured but not my much. Decided to keep a mess and took 24 home and my buddy had 12 more to feed the family. Used BG baby shad in chartreuse with a jiffy jig above in black and chartreuse. Got out before the rain started. :-)

I do miss fishing that area. Some great bank fishing opportunities on Guntersvilles. Nice mess of fish. Thanks for bringing back all those memories. My personal best came from the Goose pond causeway on a cold and misty nighty that I slipped on the rocks and went in the water up to my waist. Rocks had ice all over them

Good mess of fish! I like the 9 1/4-10 inch fish. Easier to clean and make a nice crispy fillet to eat.

Them specks from Guntersville always look so healthy. Good job on getting out and taking advantage before the rain.
