Jigs tipped with what? I knew u would end giving into the minnards! Lol great job buddy nice pictures
Went spider rigging again for a quick trip after work today. My son and my fishing buddy went with me. This is my second time now to spider rig in my boat. I gotta say, so far I'm loving it. Fish were caught in 7-9 FOW, very close to the bottom. They bit real well until the sun went below the mountain then it was about over. We tried fishing more shallow when we stopped getting bites but they must have moved. Most fish were caught on jigs tipped with minnows. I did fish 2 poles with only minnows and caught a few, but I also lost 4 good fish on those two poles. I'm not sure what I did wrong to lose the fish but the hook obviously wasn't getting in the hard part of their mouth, or I wasn't setting the hook hard enough. My buddy was fishing in the back and he got a good picture of my son and I. That picture was worth the trip for me, the catching was just the icing on the cake.
Thanks my friend. I thought I was never gonna find those minnards! I had to call around to every store I could think of. Finally found some at an old store close to the Park. Older lady runs it or owns it. She said she had minnows year round. Her tanks are indoors so the heat won't get em. Only problem is she only bought 1/2 pound last time she got any. It took her 5 minutes to chase down 1/4 pound of them. LOL
That white crappie has either got a slap full stomach or still full of eggs. I won't know which until my buddy cleans them.
Mitchell I told you last time we fished that I was gonna have to get a new tackle box. It's sitting on the deck, do you like it? LOL

Fur,
I fought the RogerA (spider rigging) method for over two years dragging cranks and jigs in most of our CRCC Tournaments and came up short every time. In our last CRCC Spring Tournament held on Neely Henry I stuck with the method. I didn't catch a fish the first two and a half hours of the day because I was in the wrong area. Once I got in the right area I luckily caught better fish that eight other teams that had three more rods per boat than me. It might randomly happen, but the majority of the time better fish fish are caught spider rigging. I will be spending the Summer honing the craft. Stay with it, it works.
