    Default Wheeler 20180413 pt2

Went back this evening to finish off my daily limit. I know, I know.... Sad it takes me 2 trips to get a limit 🙄🙄. I'm working on it haha! I got 15 more and left em biting right up on the bank. Probably be my last trip for the spring unfortunately. I hope to get a boat some day so I can get my Richard Gene on and catch them whenever I feel like it haha. It has been a lot of trial and error for sure. Only thing I wish I could do is catch em using jigs. I learned to crappie fish with tuffies so that's what I have the most confidence in. I've tried jigs here but when I'm not catching them I always start blaming the jig haha. I may try to go some next week and bring only jigs with me.

Congrats. Back before I had a boat I always took minnows as a plan B. When you have to fish the bank take every tool you can.

Here is a Jig tip for you. If you want to catch them on a jig, take the jig along as plan B. But don't wait until you have to go to plan-B. Just switch to the jig while you are catching. You won't pick up another minnow. I learned that a very long time ago. The jig is more versatile and will catch more fish year round.

Thanks everybody for the tips! I think I'm going to try some jigs this week paired with a nice look knot. Just wish I had some sauce haha! I may have to get some of that mess.

There are plenty of times when a minnow will outfish a jig. If I'm going on a serious trip, I take both. Whenever I'm sitting still, I like to throw a minnow out under a bobber while I cast a jig.
