I spider rig 95 percent of the time. More baits in water. I use 2 baits on each line. Can fish shallow or deep. Can cover a lot of water most days. Multiple colors on at once to dial in the right color bait. Some folks think it is a lazy way of fishing but it can be a lot of hard work sometimes when you hang up a lot or are fighting the wind all day. Let me know if I can help you, I am not the best but I get it done most days.

Makes sense. I’m not on the fence of thinkkng it’s lazy. As much as I fought the boat last Saturday morning I couldnt imagine having 10 lines out! Thanks for your wisdom!

I do it for a couple of reasons:

    1. I don't get to go enough to any particular lake to really get to know it well. I also don't have fancy electronics or a bunch of brushpiles marked. Spider rigging allows me to improve my odds of catching a few and helps me to learn the lake better.

    2. I get carpul tunnel symptoms from holding a pole for longer than 10 or 15 min at a time. My hands/arms will go numb and if I push it to long I'll end up having trouble sleeping. Running a chain saw or weedeater does the same thing. Spider rigging or trolling means I can fish with out that worry.

I heard this weekend that spiderriging was brought to Alabama by one guy from Grand Rapids Michigan over 25 yrs ago.
