Hadn't been to Smith in awhile but I would hit brush piles and lay downs. Clear should be as good a place as any to start fishing
Hey guys- new to this forum. Me and my grandad are headed out to Smith Lake tomorrow. Originally had planned going to Tombigbee.. changed to Smith for better water clarity due to all this rain. Never fished on Smith. I know it can be difficult due to size to locate Crappie. Not looking for any of your fishin holes, just a little direction. Gonna put in at Duncan. Thought about hitting Clear Creek first. Probably vertical jig. Appreciate the advice and looking forward to more memories with my grandad!

Down here in Louisiana some are catching in back Bays with shallow water that has become warmer than the main body of the lake,, Look for warmer water
Thank you. I know a couple rock faces with some brush. Hoping the sun reflecting off rock has that warer a little more warm.

Water has risen nearly 10 feet in the last week. The creeks are probably muddy. Hit the North pockets, banks off main channel. Brush and tops should have a few. Gonna try to find some end of week. Good luck!

Thank you buddy. Hope to send a pic of a mess of Crappie tomorrow. I know Smith Lake is a challenge. Odds stacked against us but it’s better than being in the office.
