Default B.O.A.T Bust Out Another Thousand

I'm a regular on an AL deer hunting forum. I use to big a rabid deer hunter. I'm about over that.

So there's a fishing forum on that website as well....

The guys there are recommending that I put padding under the carpet on my boat before I recarpet it.

Anybody on here have a padded carpet deck on their boat?

Boat carpet padding is NOT cheap. It will cost as much as the carpet. The way those green carp fishermen talk it's the best thing since sliced bread.... Having said that, I don't stand up that much when I fish for crappie, but it's touted to make your carpet last longer and stay in better overall condition...

By the time I get this Xpress restored I think I would have been just as well off to buy a new one.

Maybe my kids won't mind me spending their college fund on this boat.

I would not do carpet padding, heck if I had a tin boat I would not have carpet in it at all. Ryno line the heck out of it.

    Already bought the carpet....

Thanks for the reply but I'm not listening to you anyway. Last time you responded to one of my posts I ended up buying a $2400 trolling motor.

Deck padding is awesome on a bass boat for tournament fishing, when your standing all day running and gunning. I don't think it would be worth while on my crappie boat though. It would be nice but heck, spend that money on something else you might need.

Padding? Really? You want to go barefoot and feel the carpet squish between your toes?

Man-cards have been revoked for less! LOL

BTW, make sure the carpet is the cut-pile kind (no looped ends). Otherwise it’s hook snag city!

i am a fan of my carpet padding! I do go barefoot alot, especially since i dont have a en electric steer trolling motor at the moment. and it seems to keep a little cooler!

Thanks for the replies. No padding it is!

Rees your right, that mashed minner jelly might infuse into the padding and cause the neighborhood cats to eat my boat
