Love the bay boat layout! One day I will probably buy me one!

I agree mepreach. I like to fish for all kinds of fish and a bay boat is more versatile. That's why I upgraded a few months ago and I'm really loving it.

Ya know. I've thought about it. I've beat this dead horse to death. When I sell this cabin I'm keeping my riva boat to fish out of and getting another pontoon. I fish outa other peeps boat most of the time anyways. I just buy the fuel for truck and boat and they are happy.

Lee that jet boat can take you places the rest of us will never be able to go. There's some really good places way up creeks you can get to an catch fish that get no pressure

If i bought a pontoon I probably wouldn't catch many fish as I would mount a grill on it so big it would require a CDL to pull it! Then i would add coffee pot, minnow tank, toilet, popcorn machine and electric skillet! Maybe I just need a houseboat? Lol

I purchased a new 20 ft G3 Bay DLX with the 150 SHO in March of 2015. In the initial literature G3 advertised a top speed of close to 60mph with the 150 motor.
At first the boat would not get close to 50 MPH and was very slow to get on plane with the recommended prop.
Luckily the dealer I purchased it from had sold one to someone who really knows boats and we were able to figure out some things.
Finally after doing a little grinding on the hull at the transom and a prop from Yamaha R&D the boat jumped on plane and will run 53 light.
I am pretty sure that the 22 will get close to those spec sheet numbers with the 200 SHO.
I also like the Xpress boats and was undecided on which boat I would end up with. My cousin has a 20 ft SWB the same year as mine and I have fished the flats with him.
Both boats are an excellent choice imo. It came down to there being a solid G3 dealer closer to me than an Xpress dealer and thats the reason I went with the G3.
Over all its been one of the best purchases I have ever made. Really happy with the boat and service I have received.
