Nice fish, kind of makes up for the rest of the day, don't it?
I got on the lake at 6am and moved out to fish around the big drain pipe at the damn of
one of the private lakes I fish. I baited up both my rods with minnows and moved in close
to the pipe I set the pole to my left next to the pipe an then the right one. By the time I looked
back at the left one the float was going down, I set the hook and it was a heavy fish and jut then
I noticed the right one was going down, set the hook and another heavy fish. Well now I had
my hands full and I backed the boat away from the pipe so I had room. I finally got them worn
down enough that I could have both poles in one arm , grabbed the next and landed them. I set
there lookin at two big crappie thinking this is gonna be great day. Boy was I wrong, They shut
down and I only caught 2 small ones the rest of the morning. I fished a lot of spots in the lake
and I have know idea why the shut down.
I should have said that the water temp was 71° and they still had eggs.
This one was 17" and was an ounce short of 3lbs
Here's a picture of the two that were in the net at the same time, that is a 12" tile they're on
Here's the total catch for the morning

Hey Blackhawk 19, Back in December of 1994 I fished Lake George in Cullman, AL. Dropped a minnow in a spot and caught a 2.76 first drop. Biggest Crappie I had ever caught at that time. Dropped another minnow in and caught a 3.28. I started shaking after the second one and thought I was the greatest Crappie Fisherman in the world. Fished all day and never got another bite. The more you think you know, the less you really do. But those are to great fish you got.
