    Default Wheeler Lake

Will be on Wheeler Thursday through Saturday. Can anyone give me any tips on where to fish for Crappie? We will be staying in the Elk River area. Any tips will be appreciated.

They are starting to move shallow to spawn. They love the Bobby Garland Monkey Milk color.

Try Anderson Creek. Either down river from Anderson Creek Bridge to the first curve to the left, or up river, just past the bridge, around the curve to the right, flats on the left.

Also, may want to try Sugar Creek. But be careful going in. Lots of shallow water before it gets deep again. Fish the flats in 3 - 4 foot of water.

Shumaker Slough. Up river from 72 bridge on Elk. About a mile or so. First big curve to the right, Shumaker on the left. Slough has a leg to the left and right after you get in. Fish either side.

    Default Wheeler Lake

Thanks for the info. I have Crappie fished for over 40 years but never on Wheeler. Look forward to it.

We just moved to Rogersville about a month ago. I live in the house next to the funeral home. Stop by sometime. If I aint there, I'm probably at the marina.
