    Default Advice for Weiss

Headed out tomorrow for the first trip of the year. Planning on long lining some jigs and dropping a few more deeper over 15-20 foot flats on yellow creek and maybe little and big nose creeks.
Any advice? These tactics work pretty well for me in march/April but this is the earliest i've been out in the year. Water temps are around 37, definitely the coolest water I've ever fished with any success. Hoping to pull at least a few slabs in the boat.
I certainly welcome any advice on colors, speed, receive, etc.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

That cold of water they should still be deep on the river ledges. Go out of Riverside and take a right and hang on the ledges of the river in about 16 to 13 foor of water and try bottom bouncing a live minnow

Default Yeah...that was a waste of time

Thanks for the advice Laser, unfortunately I didn't get it until i was back at home thawing out. It was 20 degrees when I left the house and water temp was 35. I went with my plan of trolling and got the big goose egg. I actually pulled thru a thin layer of ice at one point.
At least I learned another way to NOT catch them!
Thanks again for the advice. I'll warm up and try again with your suggestion.

Give it another month and look down lake in Churchhouse cove for the trollers. It should start up next month
