    Default Gracie's first crappie

Here is a picture of the first crappie my daughter caught. It was caught in our pond and I could not have been happier if I had caught a 4 pounder! We went bluegill fishing last weekend and everytime we would catch one she would ask if it was a crappie while winding it in. When I would say no, she would say "you can just get it then". When she saw this one was a crappie here eyes lit up. I think I have her trained right!!

Congratulations! Did she want to keep it and eat it?

My oldest thinks we should practice catch and release, even with bream.

I asked if she caught a 3 lber if she was going to put it back or get it mounted. She said" uh, I am going to eat it"! She loves to eat fish. I threw this one back without asking.

That is awesome Scott. I remember when my daughter caught her first crappie and the look on her face. She still gets excited when she hooks a fish and she is 12 now. I hope you have many more memories to go with this one
