Being as y’all are my second family I thought I’d share this with you all. Way back when a girl moved in across the street from where I was living and we first saw each other when my roomie and I were throwing a frisbee on the front lawn. Remember when we had enough energy to do that? A few days later was Friday and I’d gotten paid so we went and...

Flag Day is a celebration of the American flag that occurs each year on the anniversary of the flag’s official adoption, June 14. What we know fondly as the “Stars and Stripes” was adopted by the Continental Congress as the official American flag on June 14, 1777 To enter this contest you must post a patriotic image that contains the...

I've finally found the time to go fishing, it's been a busy year so far. I've essentially had one honey hole that I've frequented for the last year, which consistently produces large numbers of large (fat and 8+ inch) fish. In an effort to diversify the places I fish, I've started to explore new waters, and today I visited New Croton reservoir,...

My Grandson Austin loves to fish and when his 8th Grade Class Trip to Disney World fell apart my good friend "Going Catching" invited us up to his campsite at Toledo Bend. Austin was so pumped not because he has been to Disney over 20 times but because it was our first trip to The Bend and he loves to fish. To top it off we had great weather and...

Seems timing the boat traffic to check the tree tops is working. With so much work still going on recovering from the tornado I can't get out much to fish. The water color was good on both trips, natural colors still dominated. All fish caught on BGBS Blueback shad, Shiner, Red Thunder with chrome & blue jig heads 1/16th ounce #4 hooks. Fishing...

I had a bad time Friday night and wound up in the ER for five hours. Back home after so it’s not terrible but not great either. Seems that I have a 4mm kidney stone on my left side. They get your attention. They knocked down the pain and knocked me down with some pain meds. It’s small and still up high and needs to drop down before I can pass it....

I have had this boat about 4 years and had low compression a couple of years ago and had a jasper engine replacement. All is running great. I have always used quicksilver oil in it but am wondering about trying some other oil. I see BPS has some considerably cheaper and has good reviews. Just wondering what others here do. It had always had...

As many of you know, west Ky got hit again by a tornado Sunday night. We also got slammed by hurricane strength winds that morning. Vicki is terrified by storms since her family lived thru a deadly tornado in her childhood. It did bad damage to their house. She had already set up housekeeping in the large closet under our staircase when this...

May was a wonderful month to crappie fish on the big pond (Buggs Island) for big fish. My best month of fishing in May ever. Plenty of fish on brush and docks and still some big'uns in open water. Fish in mostly 15 to 25 fow from 8 to 20' deep. Casting both hair and plastic jigs. Average about 50 nice fish each time over 10 trips. Caught a bunch...
