Today, 12:00 AMBON TEMPS created an article Bayou Lacombe Afternoon Trip after a morning rain event. in All ArticlesAustin and I waited patiently at home for the front to pass and the rain to stop before we launched at Main St. around noon. Water was average height but raising and 78F. Hit a few favorite spots and ended up with 12 keepers all thick blacks. They were following and committing but we never found a big group of them. It was one here and one...0 replies | 5 view(s)

Yesterday, 11:52 PMI've been struggling in the crappie department, I missed most of the early/mid spring season because of school, and I still don't have any reliable spots (struggles of bank fishing). To be honest, I've been having enough fun slaying huge bluegill that I haven't put in much effort. I'm right on the NY border, so I've been frequenting a number...3 replies | 69 view(s)

Yesterday, 11:03 PMI drove out to Burnt Cane this afternoon. The river is up and has the clear water pushed toward the landing. I didn’t take my boat, so not sure how far it is to the muddy water. When it goes back down, you won’t be able to get past the first sandbar, and “9-mile” will become “2-mile” until the levee is repaired. I haven’t heard anything on that....5 replies | 325 view(s)

Yesterday, 08:33 PMI’m glad we don’t have much if any standing timber where I fish. Was making me pucker watching lost baits I will reel in, back up and send the plug knocker down in a minute. But when I lose one it’s usually a gar bite-off. Don’t know how to stop that. Usually one or two a season. Sent from my iPhone using Crappie.com7 replies | 348 view(s)

Yesterday, 08:12 PMSo, I'll confess to being tired, and it has been a long but, are you saying that you don't like the Trout 5'6" XUL? I am confused by the phrase " lesson in what a better rod feels like". I just received two of the 5'6" XUL and have not had the chance to fish them yet as we had to go out of town for week. I know they are far more limber than what I...3 replies | 50 view(s)

Yesterday, 06:50 PMThat’s the one I’m missing in my Trout X collection. I have 5’6” UL , but not the XUL . I wish my five foot XUL was a split grip . Or the handle was a little shorter . I don’t know why the 4’6” and 5’ are full grip and red/black . Looking forward to pics of the sliming .3 replies | 50 view(s)

Yesterday, 06:38 PMYup, almost a ghost town here on the NE board lately. Quinn seems to have disappeared, along with SRHacksaw. Yesterday, 06:32 PMI have two ul rods with Presso reels that are 6’. Like em both but way different personalities. The trout x I got just a little while back was a lesson in what a better rod feels like. The Lunakia was right on its heels time wise and it’s a better feeling rod than the other two, lighter too. The trout x casts better than most of my ul rods which I...3 replies | 50 view(s)
