    the run has started in Texas , if you like these ding dong fish you go get em ....
    they are up the creeks and rivers right now with all their striped cousins too , have at em ....

    guess that is the yellow bass texas folks talk about all the time. is that in white bass or striper families? nice size bet they bend your line.

    yes they are in the striper/white bass family and I hear they eat well .....
    but we dont eat them at my house and dont think I ever ate one ....
    we are not in the striped fish for food group ....
    they tend to be a bit to "fishee" for us

    Sounds as though Texas is about 8-10 weeks ahead of us here in Ohio. They usually don't start running up the creeks till April here.

    With the big ice/snow storm starting tomorrow, I may not get out for awhile unfortunately.

    Here in Western KY the yellow bass are better eating than the white bass. Usually they aren't as big and don't have hardly any red meat when filleting. Fun to catch unless your fishing for something else.

    I've caught a few yellows on ky lake and they were good enough to eat that I am gonna try to figure out how to target them sometimes.
