Default The creek run has started

I tend to avoid ketchn striped fish these days and yesterday I thought maybe I would try to find a few creek crappie at a spot they go up in when its winter time .
A for sure signal the crappie are not there is herds of white bass and yellow bass.
to be sure there are herds of them up in the creek right now .
The late January run has begun and the numbers of them in there was pretty ridiculous , I managed 47 in an hour on my lunch break from really small to pretty good size .
they seemed to like the orange head blue body chart tail best but one broke me off and I went to a monkey milk looking jig and they ate it ok as well .
about 3 foot under a float and just twitching it a bit got bit lots and lots .
if you like them I say go get them ...the run has begun
