I have a bunch of inline spinners that I have picked up in multi packs or inherited that are in colors I don't use. Typically I only use white and chrome or maybe black on a cloudy day. I a lot of the ones I don't use are wild colors which I would describe as rainbow. I was just wondering what you would use them for besides trout.
Throw those "wild colors" at the same times you'd throw white/chrome/black !! When White Bass are chasing Shad or busting them on the surface, they're looking to pick out a straggler or one separated from the school (after the initial busting of the school) ... and they're in a feeding frenzy (ie - competition with all the others in their school) so they're not quite as picky about "color". They're just looking for the telltale flash of a fleeing Shad, which your inline spinner blade already provides, and which the "wild color" may also reflect. :twocents
Ok guys. I made a choice good or bad. I heard you say white, white with blue, silver, etc.. I also heard a little touch of red at the end. I had some custom jigs made with white, blue, and a touch of red. Think they will catch white bass?

I like the touch or red at the end myself. I think it may increase hookups as that is the end that you want them to hit? Maybe it looks like gills? Lures are so unnatural looking to me I get confused :-)
Silverside .... I'm gonna go out on a limb and say "well, duh" :biggrin of course they'll catch White Bass (& probably several other types of "bass", Crappie, and several other species of fish that you get them in front of) :ThumbsUp
Thanks for helping me decide everyone!. Like I said earlier...this is a new species for me. I have only caught one but I was immediately taken in by it :highfive
ps: I see one of the new crappie jigs made it into the photo also. oops
chrome or white 2 in rattle trap, white road runner 1/16 oz jig.
For the jumps, I use two lures on the same rod with a 3-way swivel
On one swivel eye I tie a #12 pet spoon on about 10" of line
On the other swivel eye I tie a fat-free shad crankbait with about 18" of line
I can cast this rig a long ways (important for the jumps), and the crankbait gets it below the school down to the bigger fish. Not uncommon to catch 2 fish at a time. I also troll this rig to find the school if they aren't in the jumps, once found I can just cast to the school.
For vertical jigging, the 7/8 oz War Eagle Spoon in either white or silver is my favorite, they come with a great hook already on there right out of the package.
My favorite bait these days is a 2.75" Big Joshy swim bait in slush color. My go to used to be, and is still a favorite, is a Blue Fox Vibrex silver with white hair on the treble.
