With the exception of the "red feathers" ... that perfectly describes the lure I used to catch White Bass during their annual spawning run in the riffles of the Dix River (the river dammed up to make Herrington Lake), back in the 50's & 60's. That lure was called a "Shyster".

I did a Google search and several companies make a Shyster lure that is in fact as you say only minus the red feathers I prefer.

One of the best lures out there, both open water and ice. Getting huge in the open water walleye world right now.

Yeah, the Evans "Shyster" was the original one, and I've probably still got one tucked away in one of my MANY tackle boxes. The original had a O shaped line tie eye, and a few hours of casting it would have the line in my spincast reel looking like a bag of pretzels

Even the late comer, the Rooster Tail, originally had the same O shaped tie eye (& was almost as bad about line twist) .... then they came out with a offset one that worked very well at keeping the bait's body stationary while the blade spun around. And you're right .... seems like everybody & their brothers are making an inline spinner (+/- fashioned after the Shyster).
