    Default First kayak catch

My wife and I got a couple Lure 11.5 kayaks this spring and really enjoy fishing from them. This isn't the best picture but the only one we got.

We were on a river in current and I had my hands full of rod, muskie and paddle and my wife was trying to paddle back up river and get a picture too. He was just 31" but I don't know how the pro kayakers catch the big boys in a yak. I was pretty busy!

Congrats, nice catch nice yak. Used to fish from a yak before it became a thing, bout 20 years ago it can be aggravating . A muskie in a yak is way cool .

Very Nice and yes it's a struggle sometimes from a yak. Especially a paddle one. But I love the closeness to the water and challenge. Plus, affordable option vs. having a boat. Good job!

Thank you fellas. Yeah, a decent sized muskie is fun to catch in a kayak. I've caught 2 more out of it this spring. I was in some shallow water on one of them and was able to get out of the kayak and work him. But in deeper water they're definitely a hand full try to paddle and land the fish at the same time. At least for me that is! I've spent more time on the lake in the boat this year but thinking I should take the kayak out on the river and chase some of these guys now after talking about it.
