First welcome to the board and congratulations on your 1st crappie! Thanks for the report and pic.
Hello everyone I am a new comer to Crappie fishing and boy is it fun! I've only caught one so far but my first catch was pretty nice. Haven't had much luck since my first one but that only motivates me more to find them! It's really a load of fun but it can be spendy! Good thing I love fishing or else I would have to find another investment ;p Lately I have been catching Bluegill, Sunfish, and Pumpkinseed. I've even caught some big Perch on the small flukes I have. If you are looking to get at some action in SW Washington start with Silver Lake, or a local pond. There is a big pull off on SR 504 in Silver Lake. Try a bobber with some curly tail grubs on a 1/16 jig. Play with colors as well! White and chartuse have been working best for me. Also pick up some flukes to play with. If you can spend the money to get weedless jigs they're worth every penny! Don't forget to get some longer bait hooks as well they are much easier to get out of the fish if it's deep. On the last note if you're having a hard time getting the hook out pinch that barb down. It comes right out if you do and makes for more of a challenge to bring them in. Here's to tight knots and wet lines!

Good fish, and great advice on the long shank hooks and bending the barb!
